*The evening meal in the UK is described as either dinner or tea depending on social status. Working-class (blue collar) people in the north refer to it as tea; dinner is consumed around midday. For middle-class people, the midday meal is lunch and the evening meal dinner. Afternoon tea these days is the preserve of the leisured class, not the Daily Mail definition of those claiming social security benefits.
